Pacific Healthcare sets up specialist unit for thyroid head & neck surgery

Pacific Healthcare Holdings, the provider of multi-disciplinary specialist healthcare services, announced the establishment of a specialist unit for thyroid head & neck surgery.

Located at Paragon, the new centre, which will focus on surgery for thyroid diseases as well as head and neck cancers, will be helmed by Dr Ranjiv Sivanandan, previously Senior Consultant and Chief of the Head & Neck Service at the Department of Surgery, Singapore General Hospital.

Dr Ranjiv received his advanced training in Head and Neck Surgery at Stanford University, in the US. During his tenure as Assistant Professor of Surgery, he spearheaded research into squamous head and neck cancers at the Stanford Institute of Stem Cell Biology and Regenerative Medicine, and was the first worldwide to publish on head and neck cancer stem cells in 2007.
